Greg Garrett
Greg, a lifelong Realtor, entrepreneur, community leader, humanitarian and family man is a tireless advocate for Hampton Roads & believes that relationships and collaboration are the engines of progress.
Greg has been in the real estate business since he was 19. He became the #1 agent in the local market by age 25 & started Garrett Realty Partners at age 26. For over 20 years, Greg was either #1 in real estate sales on the Peninsula or #1 in sales for all of Hampton Roads. In his record year Greg sold 367 homes (99 million in volume) without any buyer's agents adding to that total.
Garrett Realty Partners helps home buyers and sellers in each of our 40+ cities, counties and towns. He and his agents help people buy and sell homes from the Oceanfront, to the Carolina line, north to the Potomac River and everything east of Petersburg, Richmond, & Fredericksburg.
Greg's team has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Real Estate Teams in the USA by Realtor Magazine, where Greg has appeared on the front cover for his work with orphans & incarcerated children. Garrett Realty Partners was also recognized as the highest per person sales office, out of 6000 offices across the USA, by his former franchisor. Garrett Realty Partners works closely with some of our largest employers in Hampton Roads.
In addition to Garrett Realty Partners, Greg and his wife Michelle own or are the majority shareholders of 9 other businesses under the umbrella of The Garrett Companies ( www.garrett.partners ). These companies have over 200 partners, employees or team members.
Greg has received numerous awards like the Martin Luther King award from the HR Urban League, the Humanitarian Award from the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, the Social Entrepreneur Award from the Kauffman Foundation, the Good Neighbor Award by the National Association of Realtors®, the Lifetime Achievement Award by Volunteer Hampton Roads, & the Community Builders Award by Hampton Roads Community Action Program.
Greg has been a community leader by either founding or rising to the chair of many local business organizations & CEO groups like the Young Presidents Organization Va Chapter, Entrepreneurs Organization of Southeast Va, Greater Peninsula NOW, & several others. He is currently the Chair of Future of Hampton Roads, an organization that promotes regionalism in Hampton Roads.
Outside of real estate, Greg loves spending time with his family which includes 13 grandchildren, use to run a basketball ministry weekly to over 100 young men, watersports, running, Crossfit & his passion which is working with orphaned, abused & incarcerated children through an international ministry he founded 26 years ago called Counteract International (formerly Orphan Helpers) that serves approx 1000 incarcerated or formerly incarcerated children.
