R.C. Miller
Tech lawyer, economic development leader, and Peninsula entrepreneur — bringing the legal intelligence of Silicon Valley's fastest-growing startups home to Hampton Roads.
R.C. Miller is a senior technology and product counsel whose career spans elite law firms and some of the most recognized names in tech. He has held in-house roles at Zoom and eBay before joining Ashby, a fast-growing applicant tracking startup, where he leads product and privacy counsel work on cutting-edge AI hiring tools. He brings to FHR a practitioner's understanding of how emerging technology reshapes industries, workforces, and regions — and why Hampton Roads must be ready.
RC's legal foundation is as rigorous as his practice is current. He holds a B.A. from the College of William & Mary and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, and has built his expertise at the intersection of product development, privacy law, and artificial intelligence — areas that will define the region's competitive position in the decade ahead.
Beyond the law, RC is deeply invested in the Peninsula's civic and economic infrastructure. He serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Newport News' Economic Development Authority and as a member of the Board of Directors of Langley Federal Credit Union. He also owns and operates Peninsula Family Skating Center in Newport News and maintains an active real estate and venture portfolio — making him as much a builder as an advisor, and as committed to Hampton Roads' future as he is to its present.
